Police cracks burglary case, two arrested burglars in Sopore | KNO

Srinagar, January 03 (KNO): Sopore police on Thursday claimed to have cracked a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in the crime and recovered 24 batteries worth 03 lacs. According to a statement issued to KNO, police spokesman said that Police Station Dangiwacha received a written complaint from Sajad Ahmad Khan resident of Zehanpora wherein he stated that during the intervening night of 22/23 December 2018 some unknown burglars stole batteries from airtel tower situated at Waripora Rafiabad. “On receipt of this information, a case FIR No 167/18 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated in the matter,” he said. During the course of investigation two suspects identified as Ghulam Hassan Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Ningli Sopore A/P Gundjehangir Hajin and Irshad Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Akbar Bhat resident of Tarzoo Sopore were called for questioning, police said. He said after sustained questioning, the duo disclosed about their involvement in the commission of crime and subsequently on their disclosure police recovered 24 batteries worth 3 lacs, 12 Battery clips and 01 Iron cutter. Besides a load carrier without registration number has also been seized. Further investigation in the matter is going on, police added.(KNO)
